Nice to meet you, I’m Jen

Often the choice to begin therapy feels vulnerable for many. I provide a warm and empathic space to explore stressors, difficulties with adjustment, shame, or mental health symptoms that are impacting your quality of life. I enjoy exploring values and increasing awareness into beliefs and cognitions to allow individuals to make a change.

I use several modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), solution-focused and mindfulness-based strategies in addition to several trauma therapy techniques including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) to help you reach your goals. I approach therapy using a holistic mindset taking all areas of wellness into consideration (mental, physical, intellectual, environmental, spiritual, financial, social).

I have a special passion for serving individuals living with autoimmune conditions including Diabetes, Lupus, and Hypothyroidism among others. I am familiar with the complexities surrounding shame, grief, and burnout in living with these conditions and I am willing to hold space despite where you may find yourself in your journey.

I began my career working with children and families in youth residential treatment dealing with co-occurring issues (mental health/substance use disorder/behavioral needs). I went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of St Thomas/St Catherine University in 2013. I have worked in a variety of settings including family medicine clinics, school social work, and eating disorder treatment. I have also worked abroad in Australia serving individuals struggling with substance use disorder and homelessness.

Additionally, I am also an approved clinical license supervisor through both the Board of Social Work and the Board of Behavioral Health for clinicians working towards independent licensure. I find balance in connecting with family and friends, spending time near water, traveling, and watching incredibly cheesy movies.
